I've played it during a marathon session (lasting 8hours). They make the game less fun, but you could tweak them after a few plays. On the downside, it can be a bit multi-player solitare, especially if you "turn-off" PVP (one of the options you make at the start). That and the combat mechanism are the best parts of the game. It's fairly faithful to Vanilla WoW and the bulk of the game is collecting loot and levelling up your characters, all of which do a decent job of "feeling" like the original classes, both in terms of their abilitys and general builds. If you actually have the time, it's pretty good fun. If you have friends that could stomach such a long game, then by all means go for it. Most of my friends would play it once, possibly twice with me and then swear "never again".
